30 Years of Kieran O donoghue

This week marks the 30th anniversary of Kieran O Donoghue at Tom Harte Farm Services!

The man to talk about a parlour!

Kieran has been a huge part of this company from his early years with us(in 1996!) when he started as a service engineer and built up a customer base all over North Cork to now as our Conventional Milking System sales manager.

Take a look at a few photos down through the years from when he was DeLaval Service Person of the year in 1998 (and one of his first ads!) to recent photos of him in the place he knows best - a parlour!

From all at Tom Harte Farm Services, Thank you Kieran for your dedicated work with us. Here's to the future 🥂

VMS Open Day | Kelly Farm 2025

Robots, Robots, Robots!

First and foremost, thanks to the Kelly family for allowing us to have an open day on their farm. It can be a busy few hours with visitors walking around and talking to everyone but the Kelly's all came together and made the cold morning fly by with no issues.

(Check out our Video on the Day below!)

We had a great turn out, almost double what registered online! We had stations where groups could all see and hear:

1) Martin talk about why he got robots.
2) Our VMS lead Paul Harte talk about the robot as it milked.
3)Emma Slattery, our Diary Advisor explain the ABC grazing system the Kelly's have in place.

Our Dairy Advisor, Emma, spoke about ABC Grazing
Martins Mother and Father were great Hosts.

We weren't alone!

Thank you to our industry partners, Censortec, O Donovan Engineering and Cork Grassland Services, who came on the day to share how we all came together to help the Kelly farm be what it is today.

(The photo to the left shows the refreshments area were guests all gathered for a needed warm cup of tea and biscuits. The area they are standing in was Martins old parlour.)

Thank You to Everyone Who Attended!

We host these days so interested (or just curious) visitors can see robots working on a real farm and hear from the farmer about why what where why and how they decided robots were for their farm.

Martin and his family did a great job at explaining everything to visitors and telling them about how he has so much spare time now he had taken up a new hobby, rowing! (see photo for evidence!)

Keep an eye out for more of our open days!
See you at the next one!

National Dairy Show 2025

The National Dairy Show is an important event for us at Tom Harte Farm Services. It’s a key event in the Irish Dairy sector and we have been a platinum sponsor for the past 30 years!

Our stand was in the main arena area, giving us a great view of the show ring and all the activity for the show. We also had a smaller stand in the calf village.

This show allowed customers to see the VMS, new calf feeder model and parlour options with their own eyes. We had some of our existing customers visit us at both stands as well as a few new enquires!

Shows like this are always important for us to connect with the community and customers while also showing our products and services.

Check out our video on the event below! We can’t wait for next year! See you there!

We had some interest in the new calf feeder model!

National Ploughing Championship 2025

We joined fellow dealers from all over Ireland and the UK for the National Ploughing Championship in Screggan, Co Offaly. DeLaval had a giant stand to fit us all in with the VMS, parlour and even rotary displays too!

There was a constant flow of people through the stand for the few days and a lot of chatting in about robotics and other milking systems. Customers new and existing alike came in to see us and say hello. Its was a great time to see our fellow dealers and talk shop also!

The DeLaval Stand

We also spent a few hours each day on the ALFCO stand, just around the corner from DeLaval. We partner with ALFCO to bring their high quality cow and parlour mats to our customers as well as their drafting gate.

Some customers came to say hello at this stand too and we got some great leads from our area. It was great to see the ALFCO staff too!
