Everything was sunshine and robots!
First of all, thank you to the Croke family for hosting an Open Day on their family farm. It is always busy leading up to and of course on the day so we appreciate any customer that allows us to do these events on their farms. Even in the heat, the Croke family were welcoming to our guests and were up to chat about how it all works! Even Sammy, the family dog was happy to help meet and greet!
Like with our last open day at Martin Kelly’s farm in Kinsale, we did a group system so everyone had a chance to see everything and talk to Liam or our staff about each aspect of having robotics on a farm.
- Liam Croke spoke a bit about why he chose robots and how they have changed his farm.
- Our VMS Lead technician, Paul Harte, was in the pit talking guests through how the robots work. Guests got to see cows walk into the robots the process for their own eyes.
- Liam’s herd is on an ABC grazing system. Our Dairy Advisor, Emma Slattery was on hand to explain how that all works with robots. She answered any questions guest might have had on grazing.
Thank you to our industry partners who attended the open day. The support for the Croke family as well as the event is great to see. Even though a hot cup of tea wasn’t needed with the weather we had, people had a sandwich with water and chatted in the shade.
Thank you to all who attended! These open days are a great opportunity to see what technology is evolving in farming and how it is working with farms. Hearing from Liam himself why he decided to go for one robot and now has 4 is exactly what curious people need to hear to answer any questions. Liam and his family were amazing with guests and the day was a success all around!
Keep an eye out for more open days in the future!
See you at the next one.
