VMS SERIES

Smarter, Faster, Gentler and More Flexible!

Tom Harte Farm Services has been taking care of Corks Robotic milking systems for over 10 years. Our Voluntary Milking Systems (VMS) are DeLaval brand with our service and support to help the modern Irish farmer streamline their milking process. The 2025 VMS series are Smarter, Gentler, Faster and more Flexible for all your milking needs.

VMS Series 2025 Features

Smarter!

The VMS already is smart with its ability to recognise each cow, allowing it to enter depending on its data or detouring it back to pasture. The new feature of Milk Cell Analysis (MCA) is an ultra-precise, real-time somatic cell count sensor that integrates with DeLaval Plus – putting accurate, actionable information at your fingertips to aid you in milk quality control and udder health and disease risk management.

The data collected by MCA is analysed in the DeLaval Plus management system in real-time. Additionally, the DeLaval Plus monitors and analyses trends in somatic cell counts. It can predict possible future incidences so you can act in advance with treatment decision and dry-off management.

What does Milk Cell Analysis do?

Udder health management

The data collected by MCA is analysed in the DeLaval Plus Health Performance* application and displayed in real-time. Additionally, the DeLaval Plus Disease Risk* application monitors and analyses trends in somatic cell counts. It can predict possible future incidences so you can act in advance with treatment decision and dry-off management.

Mastitis Detection

MCA is our most sophisticated automated cell count sensor yet. With robust, advanced technology, it accurately and instantaneously measures somatic cell count and identifies subclinical mastitis early so you can intervene quickly. Reduce treatment costs and prevent infections that can cause milk loss, lower yield and compromised milk quality.

VMS Series 2025 Features

Gentler & Faster!

The new 2025 milking robots come with DeLaval Flow-Responsive™ Milking in. Milk more cows faster than ever! A constant vacuum at the teat end extracts milk faster when the milk flow is higher. Down to individual teat level for every cow. Resulting in more comfortable and relaxed cows.

What is Flow Responsive Milking?

In other robotic milking systems, it’s common for the vaccum at the teat end to dip when milk flow is at it’s highest. Flow-Responsive™ Milking automatically maintains a steady vaccuum at the teat end while handling the variation in milk flow from each individual quarter. This results in faster milking times, and less cup-on time means faster, gentler and more compete experience for cows, and a higher potential per box.

What are the benefits?

20 - 40 sec faster milking

Flow-Responsive™ Milking results in shorter milking times, which in turn allows for more cows to be milked per VMS™ station per day. Conversely, less time spent milking results in more idle time per station, allowing for an increase in time available for service and maintenance.

Up to 50% less kick offs

Cows are more comfortable and relaxed during Flow-Responsive™ Milkings and could benefit from better udder health because of the gentler, more natural variable vacuum and shorter cluster on-time. In addition, they spend less time in the waiting area and more time resting and feeding.

VMS Series 2025 Features

More Flexible!

The VMS is even more flexible than before, The stall in the VMS series 2025 can adjust to suit your cows with up to 46mm more room!

This means cows of all breeds, shapes and sizes can fit in the VMS. Decreasing animal stress and work load on the farmer.

For a farm with multiple breeds of cows, the fear is gone!
